Departure from 1600m on the path that leads to the refuge Capanna 2000 (M. Arera). You face the first 400 m of altitude.
Arrived at the panoramic refuge the race descends along a trail to the "Sucù d'Arera" and then head towards the huts of Camplano (1800m) and then towards the grassy summit of M. Grem (2049m). Descend along the long pastures of the Grem, until you reach Colle di Zambla (1280m). Continue for 1km to Passo Crocetta where you take the path that leads to Passo della Forca. Here the skyrace descends towards the meadows of the Alben, crossing flat up to the Sappli Pass (1500m), we descend again towards the Cascina Bianca in the woods of the Alben. Follow the path to Pian della Mussa, where you take a track that leads to Ca di Zooc in Valpiana. One last kilometer to Serina.

Regulations
  1. Participation in the race requires the participant to be a member of Fisky, Csen, Fidal, Runcard for insurance reasons. Athletes must present and exhibit a valid membership card when collecting race bibs.
  2. Participants in the race (both Italian and foreign) who are not members of the above organizations, or whose membership is not valid, will be registered by ASD MAGA at the participant’s expense, with a contribution of EUR 5.00.
  3. If a participant is unable to attend the race, the participation fee will not be refunded, nor will the participation fee be transferable to the following year.
  4. For organizational reasons, the limit for registrations for 2024 is set at 300 athletes for the MAGA Skyrace.
  5. The limit mentioned at point 4. may be subject to variations at the discretionary choice of ASD MAGA.
  6. The registration fee for the year 2024 is EUR 35.00 for early registrations by July 31, 2024 (included) and EUR 40.00 for late registrations by September 15, 2024.
  7. Maga Skyrace is open to all athletes over the age of 18 who have a medical certificate (B1 for the following disciplines: Athletics, Skyrunning, Mountaineering, Ski Mountaineering), according to DM 18/02/1982, attesting to suitability for competitive sports for the current season and the absence of counter-indications to high-altitude sporting activities. Failure to provide this certificate, as indicated in Article 5 of the aforementioned DM, will prohibit the athlete from participating in the race.
  8. Foreign athletes may participate in the race if they are members of their own athletics federation. Otherwise, for insurance reasons, they will be required to obtain a daily Fisky membership to be paid upon registration (at the cost of EUR 5.00). Foreign athletes must provide organizers with a copy of a medical examination certifying fitness for sports or a self-certification of having undergone a medical examination according to current Italian regulations.
  9. Each athlete will personally receive a race bib upon presenting a photo ID. The race bib must be worn throughout the race and must always be clearly visible. The race bib must not be modified in any way and is necessary for accessing the organization’s shuttles and refreshment points.
  1. Registered participants will be provided with a bus service for transportation from the Sports Hall of Serina (BG) to the starting point of the race, located in Arera 1600.
  2. Athletes can only reach Plassa Arera by private means, where they must park. The starting point of the race can only be reached by the shuttles provided by the Organizing Committee for the athletes, in order to allow the smooth running of the event. Until the start of the race, transit will be permitted only for authorized vehicles.
  1. Athletes must follow the race markings and pass all checkpoints. It is mandatory to follow the marked trails, and taking shortcuts is prohibited. Any athlete who voluntarily deviates from the marked trail and/or takes shortcuts and/or deviates from the trail will no longer be under the Organizing Committee’s responsibility.
  2. The race bib must not be modified and must be prominently displayed throughout the competition.
  3. Athletes may withdraw voluntarily or be forced to withdraw by the race director or the medical staff present along the race. In case of voluntary withdrawal, athletes are required to inform the checkpoint, surrender their race bib, and carefully follow the instructions of the checkpoint staff for return.
  4. At any point during the race, the race director or a checkpoint staff member may, at their sole discretion, require competitors to wear a windproof jacket or any other mandatory clothing or equipment.
  1. In order to ensure the safety of athletes along the course and at the finish line, assistance and emergency intervention points will be set up to provide assistance to anyone in need. It is the responsibility of any athlete in difficulty or injured to call for assistance:
    • by going to an assistance and emergency intervention point;
    • by asking another athlete to call for assistance;
    • by calling the assistance number displayed on each race bib.
  2. Each athlete must assist people in danger and notify rescue services.
  3. If an athlete is unable to contact the assistance number (for example, because they are in an area where only emergency calls are possible), only in cases of absolute emergency they can call 112 directly.
  4. Athletes who use the services of a doctor or rescuer submit to their authority and must unconditionally accept their decisions.
  1. In the event of adverse weather conditions posing an objective danger to the athletes, the course may be modified at the race director’s sole discretion. The competition may be suspended and/or the course may be modified at any time, even if the race has already started. In any case, an alternative route will always be provided.
  2. In any case of force majeure, of excessively unfavorable weather conditions, or of any other circumstance that may endanger the athletes’ safety, the Organizing Committee reserves the sole right to:
    • modify the start time;
    • modify the time gates;
    • postpone the start date;
    • adapt the race itinerary;
    • cancel a race.
    • terminate a race even if it is already in progress.
  3. In the event of a forced race interruption by the Organizing Committee, the overall classification will be drawn up taking into account the time recorded at the last checkpoint.
  4. In the event of a shortened course, the prize money will be halved. In case of cancellation, the registration fee will not be refunded.
  1. The maximum time to complete the MAGA Skyrace will be 6 hours and 30 minutes. In order to respect this timing, there will be a time gate at Passo di Zambla which closes at 1:30 PM. The Race Director reserves the right to modify the start time if necessary due to unexpected weather conditions that pose an objective danger to the competitors.
  2. To be allowed to continue the race, athletes must have passed the gate before the established time limit (regardless of the arrival time at the checkpoint).
  3. Athletes who abandon the race, are stopped by the organization staff, or are late at the official time gates are not allowed to continue the race. Their race bib will be cut, and they will be escorted back to the main event area by the organization’s transport facilities.

  2. The top 10 male and female athletes are not allowed to cross the finish line together.
  1. Along the race, a sufficient number of refreshment points have been provided, catering to the physical exertion required by the participants, offering drinks and food to be consumed on-site. When leaving a refreshment point, the atheletes must ensure they have the necessary amount of food and drinks to reach the next refreshment point.
  2. At each refreshment point, suitable drinks and energy supplies will be available. The types of food and beverages provided at the refreshment points may vary at the discretion of the Organizing Committee based on weather conditions and accessibility of the designated points.
  3. Only athletes with a clearly visible race bib are allowed access to the refreshment point.
  4. The list of refreshment points and available products will be communicated to athletes in the days before the race.
  1. By registering for the event, participants commit to respecting the environment and, in particular, adhering to the following behaviors.
  2. It is absolutely forbidden to litter along the course (for example, gel tubes, wrappers, organic waste, plastic packaging, etc.). Bins will be available at the refreshment points where participants can dispose of their waste.
  3. No disposable tableware (cups, plates, bowls, etc.) will be provided at the aid stations and refreshment points to reduce plastic consumption. Athletes, as outlined in the “Mandatory Equipment” section, must bring their own cup and/or water bottle and/or container.
  1. The race will take place on mountain trails with challenging ascents and descents. Given the characteristics of the race course, participants are required to wear suitable footwear and clothing. The race director, at his sole discretion, reserves the right to prevent the departure of athletes who do not wear suitable gear for the event.
  2. It is mandatory to present at the start and have with you throughout the race a windproof jacket and a cup or container (flask, water bottle, etc.).
  3. Penalties are provided for athletes without the mandatory equipment along the entire race course, which will be determined by the race officials.
  4. In case of adverse weather forecasts, the Organizing Committee reserves the right to make other equipment mandatory, which will be communicated in advance on the website and social media channels of the event, the days before the race.
  1. Checkpoints will be set up at the start and along the race course, and failure to pass even one of these will result in disqualification of the athlete.
  1. The Race director and the Organizing Committee reserve the right to apply penalties to competitors ranging from 3 minutes to disqualification, depending on the severity and repetition of the following violations:
  • littering outside designated areas such as refreshment points. MAGA joins the campaign – I don’t litter my waste;
  • bib not visible or tampered with;
  • failing to pass through mandatory checkpoints;
  • unsportsmanlike conduct – not assisting a competitor in need and/or disrespecting individuals (not only other athletes, but also the organization, volunteers, etc.);
  • not having the mandatory equipment required at the start and throughout the race or not using it;
  • refusal to obey the instructions of the organization staff, the race director, a doctor or rescuer, volunteers;
  • refusal to undergo doping tests where required or testing positive for doping.
  1. Any complaints regarding the rankings must be submitted in written form to the race office within one hour from the publication of the official ranking, accompanied by EUR 50.00, which will be refunded only if the complaint will be accepted. The decision of the jury, if taken by an absolute majority, is final. In case of dispute, the ISF regulations and the decision of the ISF representative apply.
  2. Any other complaints must be submitted to the Organizing Committee via email within 10 days from the end of the event.
  3. The complaint must necessarily contain the name of the complainant, their bib number, and the reasons clearly and succinctly stated.
  1. Participants, by registering for the event, declare that they have carefully read and accepted the privacy regulations published on the website (www.magaskymarathon.it/privacy), and in particular declare that they accept that their images, photos, and/or videos may be used to promote the event and/or the territory or for related purposes, and that their personal data will be entered into the Organizing Committee’s archives. This data will be stored and kept strictly confidential by the Organizing Committee and will be used for purposes related to the race, in accordance with the provisions of GDPR 679/2016. These data can be corrected or deleted at any time.
  2. All participants expressly waive their image rights during the event, as well as any recourse against the Organizing Committee and its authorized partners for the use of their image. Only the Organizing Committee can assign these image rights to any media, through appropriate accreditation or license. Any communication about the event or use of images from the event must respect the name of the event, registered trademarks, and the official agreement of the organization.
  1. Runners who are sponsored or otherwise use third-party trademarks for promotional purposes must use such third-party trademarks only on their own clothing and equipment during the competition. All other items, including, but not limited to, flags, banners, or posters, are not allowed along the race course, including the finish line. Violations of this provision may result in a penalty imposed on the athlete, at the sole discretion of the race directo

  1. By registering for the race, participants accept these regulations in all their parts and without reservation.
  2. By registering for the race, each participant also undertakes to respect these regulations and releases the organizers from any civil or criminal liability, direct or indirect, for any material and non-material damages and/or expenses that may arise from their participation in the race and that may occur during the event.
  3. The race will be held in accordance with these regulations and with any modifications and notices that will be communicated and/or published on the website and social media channels of ASD MAGA. For anything not expressly specified in these regulations, the rules of the ISF international regulations apply.
